HI!

I'm Jessica Nightingale, owner of Nightingale Photography. living my best life in Mountain Home, Idaho. I've been snapping pics for as long as I can remember... I used to force my sisters to model for me, and let's just say our DIY photo shoots were... interesting . I mean, who needs a fancy studio when you've got a blanket and a dresser, right? I recently dug up some old pics and, they're hilarious! We had a genie shoot (thanks, Christina Aguilera ), a basketball shoot (I thought I was a sports photographer prodigy, lol), and a flower field shoot (which was actually just our backyard weeds ). Let's just say I've come a long way since then... and my sisters are going to kill me for posting these . You're welcome, sis! 😉

After my first daughter was born, I started diving into photography. Friends around town asked me to take photos for them, and I tried posing my daughter for newborn photos with no idea what I was doing. I was so embarrassed by how bad they turned out that I deleted all of them and never told anyone. I'm actually sad I deleted them, as they would be great to show people where I started. But my daughter would probably be mortified. I remember coming across Kelly Brown and being blown away - I had never known a picture could look like that; it was a work of art. I knew that's what I wanted: not just normal snapshots, but beautiful works of art that featured my clients. I took a few classes from her and Ana Brandt, and I was even able to attend one of ana's newborn clinics. I learned so much just by watching her, but I was starstruck and anxious - I acted like a weirdo. I've taken many classes since then by so many amazing photographers and have learned a lot, but I'm still growing and learning with every shoot. not really sure I will ever be done evolving and growing.

In the last couple of years, I have really grown as a photographer and it is Turing into something amazing so I took a leap and registered as an L.L.C. and made it official. Yay! I absolutely love newborn, family, and maternity photoshoots. I feel that those are the most important because our families and children change and grow so fast - you blink and the next phase of life has already started. In this life, all we really have is time and our memories. To me, photography is a way to capture your memories so your family will have a part of you forever. I want my sessions to be a few hours where time stops and it's just you, your family, your kids, and your babies bonding, making more than just photos but memories. My photos are not just photos - I want them to be , like paintings, works of art, and not just plain photographs. I want them to be your family as art. I know this editing style is different but that is what makes it mine I love clean lines, a beautiful sunset, contrast, pops of color, bright, and moody all at the same time. I am so excited to see where else this will take me here is to another yr of growing and learning.
