Fall is almost here!!
The crisp air, vibrant foliage, and cozy nights ahead. And, let's be honest, who doesn't love pumpkins?! ๐ One of my favorite destinations is Quey's Sunflower Fields in Mountain Home, ID. I've had the privilege of watching this stunning location grow from its early days as Quey's Maze to its current sun-kissed glory. What I adore most about this hidden gem is the atmosphere, allowing visitors to wander freely and connect with nature. She hosts vender events, flower picking, and pick n sips so you can just relax in the flowers. I've had the pleasure of photographing numerous shoots here, but one senior shoot stands out - this lady has grown into an amazing person with quick wit and infectious laughter. We were treated to a stunning sunset that evening, and I felt grateful to have shared in that moment. ๐ป.
My sunflower mini sessions this year were absolute perfection! I don't usually offer mini sessions, but the flowers were too beautiful to resist. I was a little nervous at the start, since most of my clients were new, Plus, I tend to get carried away and overrun my time frame. But everything worked out wonderfully โ everyone was patient, and we had a blast. A huge thank you to everyone who signed up and came out to the fields!
The Farmstead
Another enchanting place is Lowell's Family Farmstead in Kuna. I visit here at least two to three times a year, and it never disappoints. They offer fun for the whole family โ games, food, animals, a corn maze, and an array of pumpkins in every kind and color imaginable. The farm also boasts stunning wildflowers, sunflower fields, and pumpkin patches perfect for hanging out and taking photos. I love doing sessions here because the whole family can join in on the fun, and when we're done, you can stay and play games or get lost in the corn field.
Spring time in Idaho
Of course, let's not forget that spring is a fantastic time for flowers! As the weather warms up, the Boise Foothills are covered in wildflowers. This year, we were lucky to see more than I've ever seen before. My absolute favorites during this time are Little Camas and Anderson Ranch. The wildflowers are everywhere, and even if you're not taking photos, a drive up to the foothills is breathtaking. I adore the purple lilies and yellow fields โ it's absolutely perfect.
